Tom Hoshall's Business History:

At the age of 19 Mr. Hoshall opened the first exclusive CB/Radio Store in America  (according to CB Magazine)  Citizen Band Two Way Radio Company. This business grew into Communication Electronics, Inc. and expanded into many facets including auto stereos, which included 9 retail stereo chain stores and wholesale division for Capitol, Columbia, Ampex and other major record and tape companies. The next 17 years, Tom, business expanded into commercial two-way radio systems, radio paging and other various electronic systems.

In 1967 Mr. Hoshall also formed Telephone Electronics Company (Telco), a new leading edge company that developed, and distributed some of the nations first automatic telephone answering equipment and telephone accessories.

In 1968 Mr. Hoshall received a patent on the world’s most successful theft preventive display case for 8-track stereo tapes. 8-track tapes were displayed behind clear plastic or wire holes, large enough for a hand to fit through, but small enough that the tape could not be removed through the hole.

In 1972 Tom formed a full service record company, Sound Vision Corp., which included a recording studio, Associated Recording Artists of America, Ltd., publishing company, Music Royalty Association, and record promotion division, Artco Records and Tapes. His company recorded many famous artists including The Blackwood Brothers, Dale Robertson, James Brolin, Henny Youngman, and etc.

While continuing to oversee the record company, in 1973 Mr. Hoshall, along with friends, formed Cartridge Industries Corporation, which became the nation’s largest distributor of plastic 8-track stereo cartridge components and distributor of magnetic 8-track tape products.

In 1974, Mr. Hoshall and a friend developed and received US Patent Designs for the first K.D. knock down pipe furniture. In 1974 this furniture was awarded First Outstanding Furniture Design for the first K.O. furniture introduced into America at the furniture industry’s national show.

In 1977 Mr. Hoshall  researched, designed and received several patents on the Insulation  industry’s simplest, highest performing insulation  blowing machine.Hoshall Industries, Inc., sponsored the insulation industry’s first national convention, with the distinguished, worldwide known commentator, Paul Harvey as speaker. In the 1980’s this company expanded to be the world’s largest distributor of energy insulation products. There were over 50 licensed energy supply centers nationwide, and hundreds of people were trained in energy conservation in the 80’s, more than any similar type company in America.

In 1989 Mr. Hoshall formed 900 Call Association. In 1990 Mr. Hoshall entered a co-marketing agreement with AT&T, one of only 25 companies nationally, enabling his company to offer 900 pay per call services. 900 Call Association provided complete access for businesses and individuals within the telecommunications industry and commerce, with a common goal and direction toward the pay-per-call 900 audio text industry. Mr. Hoshall’s company only provided 900 numbers to businesses and individuals that were not children directed or non-business related. The company developed and successfully syndicated several 900 programs, such as America’s Favorite Tunes and Telephone Crossword Puzzles, both very unique to the business. Mr. Hoshall has several other active telecommunication programs, including a National Auction Channel

In 1993 Mr. Hoshall formed Hoshall Way Homes/Tom Hoshall Homes.
